Fr. John JordanThe Very Rev. John Jordan, Rector

Fr. Jordan has been the Rector of St. Laurence since January 2011. Prior to coming to St Laurence, he served at St. Vincent's Cathedral in Bedford, Texas. He has been married to Elizabeth for 17 years and they have three children: Aidan, Lucy, and Jude. While he loves playing golf and watching baseball, when he's not at the Church he's usually attending his kids' many events. At St. Laurence, Fr. Jordan is our lead priest and he sets the tone and vision for all aspects of our Church's ministry. Email Fr. John 

 

DSC_7777The Rev. Cooper Morelock, Associate Rector

Fr. Cooper joined us after graduating from Nashotah House Seminary in June of 2017 and was ordained a Deacon at St. Laurence shortly afterward. He was born and raised in Brownwood, TX and grew up at Church of the Good Shepherd there. He graduated from Texas A&M before going to Nashotah House. Fr. Cooper assists in all aspects of Parish life. He was ordained into the priesthood in February of 2018.

 

 

Fr. Robert YoungThe Rev. Canon Robert Young, Assistant Priest

Fr. Young brings over thirty years of experience to our pastoral team. He is married to Liz and they have a daughter, Andrea, and two grandchildren. Fr. Young served parishes in Oregon and Florida before coming to Texas. In addition to being a parish priest, he was also known for many years as Captain Young, serving our country as a Navy Chaplain. At St. Laurence, while he also shares in all aspects of the priestly ministry, his main responsibilities are teaching, counseling, and pastoral care. 

Fr. Scott WilsonThe Rev. Canon. Scott Wilson, Assistant Priest

Fr. Wilson brings over thirty-five years of pastoral experience, almost entirely in the Dallas/Fort Worth area. He is married to Lana and he has two adult children, John and Mary, and a whole host of grandchildren. Fr. Wilson is the creator of the TELET program that equips Christians to share their faith. At St. Laurence, Fr. Wilson occasionally teaches, preaches, and celebrates the Sunday Eucharist. 

DSC_0583The Very Rev. William Crary, Rector Emeritus 

Fr. Crary was the first rector of St. Laurence, serving for 24 years. Brought here to close St. Laurence, he instead revived it and grew it into a vibrant parish. He retired in 2011 and now serves as Assistant Priest. Prior to coming here, Fr. Crary was rector of St. Vincent's Church in Bedford and All Saints, Ft. Worth. He has a daughter, Molly, who lives in Springfield, MO and he enjoys travel, aviation, railroading and building model stationary steam engines. 

 

 

Katie LaPenna

Katie LaPenna, Youth Minister

Katie works with our  teenagers, from 6th grade through high school. Katie is married to Bobby and they have two little girls, Ruthie and Bekah. She has worked with our teenagers for the last seven years and has done an excellent job building up a strong community of young people in the Parish.  She loves exploring ways for teenagers to make an impact on the kingdom of God. 

 

John HeimelJohn Heimel, Organist and Choir Master

Having completed his Master's in Music Theory at The University of Hartford, Hartt School of Music, and undergone Doctoral studies at the University of North Texas, John brings a wealth of knowledge and experience to our music program here at St. Laurence. Additionally, John spent a significant amount of time doing research throughout Europe and has given lectures in Germany on organ and choral music. John is married to Silvia and they have a little boy, David. 

 

 


Megan_resizedMegan Mecca, Children's Minister

Megan grew up attending St. Laurence, making her one of our longest time members! She is married to Mark and they have two kids: Noah and Leah. She joined our office staff in 2016 and now leads our Children's Ministry program. She oversees all aspects of parish life for children from birth to 5th grade. This includes Sunday School, God Squad, Children's Chapel, Vacation Bible School, the Nursery and much more. 

DSC_7767Cherie Bennett, Parents' Day Out Director

Cherie has been an integral part of our Parish Life for many years, volunteering and serving in so many ways. She joins us in an official capacity now as the director of our Parents' Day Out program. Cherie just recently became certified as a spiritual mentor and serves the Parish in the areas of spiritual growth and counseling. She is married to Jeff and has two grown children, Chloe and Ryan. 

Karie EdsonKarie Edson, Parish Secretary

Karie and her family started attending St. Laurence in 1997. She is married to Mark and they have three kids: Colby, Sarah, and Allison. In 2011, she joined our staff on a "temporary" basis and thanks be to God, she is still part of it! Karie manages all of the communications, the facilities, and the day to day aspects of the Parish. 

 

 

 

Chloe BennettChloé Bennett, Assistant Youth Minister

Chloé grew up here at St. Laurence and now gives back to the youth program that helped to shape her. Chloé works with both the Jr. High and Sr. High youth groups and helps to teach the Jr. High kids on Sunday mornings. During the week, Chloé is a science teacher at Johnson Elementary School here in Southlake. 

 

 

 

Kerry Henry, Parish Bookkeeper

Kerry joined our staff in January of 2020. She works with the Treasurer and Finance Committee to keep the parish's finances in good order.
