All women of the parish are invited to an evening of (re)discovering the spiritual practice of poetry through the Psalms led by St. Laurence's talented Jessica Ward. Thurs, Oct. 22 from 6:30-8:00pm in the Parish Hall. We’ll begin with a short introduction to Psalm 100, exploring Lady Mary Sidney’s historic sonnet adaptation, “Jubilate Deo,” alongside a contemporary version. Together, we’ll learn about meter, rhythm, allusions, and other literary techniques, as well as connections to the hymns we sing each week. Then, we’ll create our own  reimagining of Psalm 100 and share favorite lines from each group. Please bring $10 for dinner plus a bottle of wine to share. Childcare for kids 5 and under is available for anyone who makes a reservation 24 hours in advance by clicking the link below.
